EMU Faculty of Art and Science

Established in 1979, the EMU has rapidly become one of the best Universities in the world according to the Times Higher Education list ( ranked within 601-800 band among all the universities in the world ) and one of the best universities according to the QS Stars University Ratings (five stars in teaching and internationalization, four stars in innovation etc.).
Our faculty offers undergraduate and graduate courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Turkish Language and Literature, Translation and Interpretation, Psychology and Molecular Biology and Genetics departments. We provide education with 56 full time, 34 part-time teaching staff and 31 research assistants. Our academic staff is well published regarding academic articles, all in respected scientific journals. A total of 87 articles by our academic staff were included in the, Web of Science Core Collection list in 2016 and 2017.
It should be stressed that the Bachelor Program in Molecular Biology and Genetics was accredited for a period of five years ending in 2020 by the AHPGS agency, which is an international institution of accreditation in the field of health sciences and social sciences in Germany. The Bachelor Program in Psychology was accredited by Turkish Psychological Association (only ten universities in Turkey have this accreditation and we are the only university with this accreditation in Cyprus). Moreover, the Department of Mathematics is a member of The American Mathematical Society. We pride ourselves with the fact that we provide education to all students within our faculty with three Chemistry and physics, three Computer, two Molecular Biology, two Psychology and one Translation laboratory.
Moreover, many student clubs which belong to our faculty actively organize various events and conferences every year. We welcome all students who wish to become a member and take part in the activities of these clubs.
So far we graduated 3571 undergraduate, 692 master and 91 PhD students. Our graduates have accomplished careers around the world including the United States, Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia where they continue to contribute to business and academia successfully. For instance, we have graduates who are working in prestigious international companies (such as Apple, EA Games), and in academia (such as State University of New York at Buffalo, Massey University).
