World-famous Apple Hill String Quartet Delivering Training in EMU

Eastern Mediterranean University Arts and Sciences Faculty Fine Arts Education Department is getting ready to host world-famous Apple Hill String Quartet. Within the framework of "Playing For Peace" program, the Apple Hill String Quartet will be visiting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as part of their Middle East Tour. Within the framework of their program on the island, the aforesaid group will deliver training for EMU Music Teaching program students under the title of "Masterclass" at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, 6 November 2014.

Having been providing scholarships and chamber music courses for the musicians from our country since 1990s, the group will be awarding a scholarship for a student at the end of the masterclass course.

The Apple Hill String Quartet will also be giving a concert at Bellapais Monastery in collaboration with TRNC Deputy Prime Minister's Office, ministries of Economics, Tourism, Culture and Sports and Eastern Mediterranean University at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, 7 November 2014.

Entrance to the concert is free of charge. During the concert, the Apple Hill String Quartet members Elise Kuder, Colleen Jennings, Michael Kelley, Rupert Thompson, and EMU Fine Arts Education Department academic staff member Sinem Sadrazam will be performing pieces from Dvorak, Mozart, Hermann and Saygun.
