EMU REGISTERED AS A WORLD BRAND IN PHYSICAL SCIENCE EDUCATION

Times Higher Education (THE), published in the UK, is the publisher of the world's most widely cited university rankings, and announced the world's best physical sciences (Mathematics, Physics & Astronomy, Chemistry and Statistics) of 2020 on Tuesday, 19 November 2019. The ranking, which includes renowned universities such as Princeton University, California Institute of Technology, University of Cambridge, Stanford University and Harvard University, has only the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), scoring a successful position in the 601-800 band.
Total of 1,054 Universities entered
EMU ranked as 6th in Turkey on the list of 1,054 universities in 601-800 band after the Bilkent University, 401-500 band, Bogazici University, Koç University, Sabancı University, 501-600 band, and Atılım University, 601-800 band. A total of 26 universities from Turkey were listed. EMU ranked third in Cyprus. Two universities in Southern Cyprus were also listed in 401-500 and 601-800 bands.
1st in the Nature Index Ranking
As to be remembered, EMU Faculty of Arts and Sciences has strengthened its position among the leading Faculties of Arts and Sciences in Europe by achieving the first place on the island of Cyprus in the category of Physical Sciences by Nature Index, which annually announces success rankings by country and academic institutions since 2015. EMU ranked second in the Nature Index 2019 European University Ranking, covering the period between August 1, 2018 - July 31, 2019, with its publications and academic achievements in Cyprus, including Southern Cyprus. Furthermore, EMU was listed in the top 10 and 35 academic institutions of Turkey and Europe, respectively, and qualified for receiving Nature index badge.
