EMU Translation and Interpreting Students Set To Translate in the Digital Games Industry

With the rise of international marketing, the need for Turkish translators is also growing in many sectors. The fastest-growing component of the international media sector, the digital games industry, is one of the world's largest sectors in need of Turkish Translators.

In recent years, with the recognition of the sales potential in Turkey, the digital games industry has decided to expand its market by translation and localization, in order to reach over 20 million users who want to play the games in their mother tongue. To meet the demands of users who want to play the games in Turkish, the leading firms in this sector have increased their investments in translation and localization units.

One of the Turkish translation and localization units is run by the leading digital games firm, EA (Electronic Arts Inc.). The translators and localization testers are employed to make technical corrections and to review translation work game script. The Success of EMU Translation and Interpreting students

This year, two students from the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Translation and Interpreting Department have successfully passed the application process for EA (Electronic Arts Inc.)'s Localization Tester position. EMU Translation and Interpreting students, Aziz Şenol Tuncay and Direnç Kuyucu will be working in the Madrid branch of EA (Electronic Arts Inc.).

The rising tempo of localization training in the University

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Translation and Interpreting Department is leading one of the most prominent programs in this field. The program provides valuable opportunities for practical application of knowledge and skills. The coordinator of the program and Audiovisual Translation specialist Neslihan Binatlı Hekimoğlu stated: "Our program has always followed the changing requirements of the Translation and Interpreting sector.
