The cooperation protocol was signed at EMU Rectorate on Tuesday, 15 October 2019, by President Ülker Fahri on behalf of Northern Cyprus Insurance & Reinsurance Companies Association and Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam on behalf of EMU.
EMU Dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Özarslan, Dean of Faculty of Business and Economics, Prof. Dr. Selcan Timur, Head of Banking and Finance Department, Prof. Dr. Nesrin Özataç, Head of Mathematics Department, Prof. Dr. Nazım Mahmudov, Rector Coordinator, Assist. Prof. Dr. Davut Solyalı and board members of the Northern Cyprus Insurance & Reinsurance Companies Association attended the signing ceremony.
The protocol aimed to develop and broaden the professions and services of the insurance sector in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and to achieve and diversify the academic and sectoral activities between EMU and the Insurers Association. With this protocol, especially actuarial sciences and banking & finance students will have the opportunity to do internship in the member companies of the union. In addition, a workshop will be held at least once a year to bring the students of both programs together. It is also aimed to further disseminate the sector by sharing the data of the insurance sector for research purposes, development and support of research projects, and production of scientific theses in the subjects and fields to be determined as a result of a joint agreement between the two parties
