Culture and Art Symposium

Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Art and Science Department of Turkish Language and Literature Faculty Member's Dr. Ayşe Dalyan, participated in the symposium (Yeniceli Âşık Sıtkı Baba ve Popülerlik Çerçevesinde Kültür ve Sanat Sempozyumu) organized by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality on 13-15 October 2016, she presented an article titled "Context of Popular Culture Traces On The Turkish Culture And Mythology In The Foreign Films" in the symposium. The article focused on the use of Turkish culture and mythology in foreign films which are popular cultures. In the foreign films taken in the study, it was determined which elements of the Turkish culture and mythology were used for which scenes and for what purpose, and the approaches of the films to Turkish culture and mythology were analyzed. Due to the lack of such studies in Turkey, the article is of great importance.
